Andary Scholarship Established
The family of Marcus Andary have partnered with the Chippewa County Community Foundation to establish a scholarship to honor his memory. The scholarship is possible through the generosity of his family and friends. Donations have come in from the Sault Ste. Marie community all the way to Iowa. The donations have been endowed in a special fund. Interest earned on the fund will provide an annual scholarship to a male or female Sault High Senior.
Marcus, a 21 year-old Sault native died tragically on December 18, 2011 in a car accident, while trying to assist the driver of another vehicle. He was in his second year at Iowa State University, where he maintained a 4.0 grade point average and played for the ISU hockey team. In recognition of their beloved son and brother, Molly Andary, Marcus’ mother and his three sisters – Lara Andary, Megan Winberg and Alex Andary have established this scholarship.
The scholarship will recognize an outstanding graduate who exemplifies the qualities Marcus possessed. Follow the link below to get more information on the Andary Scholarship.
